🇺🇸 US Passport Photo Requirements

  1. Photo Size & Dimensions
    • Final image: 2×2 inches (51×51 mm) exactly.
    • Height: 1 3/8 inches (35 mm) at bottom of chin to top of head.
    • Eye level: 1 1/8 inch to 1 3/8 inches (28 mm – 35 mm) from bottom of photo.

    • Plain white or off-white background.
    • Not visible shadows, patterns and objects.
  3. Head Position & Expression

    • No earphones, bluetooth headsets, or the like.

    • JPEG format (.jpg).

  • Size: 45×35 mm.
  • Background: plain, pale cream, light grey or light blue.
  • Head Position: centered, neutral expression.
  • Lighting & Quality: Uniform lighting, without shadows.
  • Accessories: clear glasses, headgear not for religious purposes and not covering the face.
  • File for Digital Submission: PEG, as per gov.uk – At least 600 dpi, Between 50 KB and 10 MB.

🇨🇦 Canada Passport Photo Requirements

  • Size: 50×70 mm.
  • Background: solid white or light natural—coloured.
  • Head Position: centered, neutral expression.
  • Lighting & Quality: The lighting should be uniform and without any shadows..
  • Accessories: non- tinted glasse, head covering for religious purpose (but not covering the face).
